Who we are

Safeguarding Guru has been developed by the team behind Safeguarding Network to meet the critical need for safeguarding support, guidance, and resources for 'out of school settings' working with children, young people, and also adults at risk. Our approach is based on statutory guidance and best practices.

In 2023, the Department for Education published findings from a pilot study conducted in 16 local authority areas over 18 months. The pilot explored how local authorities identify, support, and supervise non-school settings that provide activities for children and young people, including the management of staff and volunteers. The study revealed that these settings are often unknown to local authorities, presenting significant safeguarding risks.

Safeguarding Guru is here to specifically support out-of-school settings such as uniformed organisations, sports clubs, charities, afterschool clubs, supplementary schools, faith-based organisations, and everything in between. Our goal is to ensure you have the tools and resources needed to maintain a safe environment for all.
